Excellent Book For Beginners - I have picked up watercolour painting again after quite a few years. I am attending a class but it is for intermediate and advanced painters rather than beginners but it is the only one I can make. Therefore books are very important to me. This one provides good lessons and individual instruction. Also, if you are not good at drawing, the prictures are provided in a format that you can trace. A perfect way to be able to produce a good picture. It may be cheating but it gives you the confidence to go further without worrying about the drawing as well as the painting. I am looking forward to purchasing the other books in the series.
What a great idea! - In his latest book, Terry Harrison has taken away the fear factor for duffers like me. I like to paint, but cannot draw well enough to get what I see on paper. I own a multitude of instructional volumes, but none have improved my output like this book did. It provided the skeletons of the landscapes to allow me to get it on my paper, and then follow the instructions about painting. It may not have improved my technique, but it has greatly improved my confidence! I m still not an artist, but I m beginning to see where I went wrong before and feel more able to branch out on my own. I hope there will be a similar publication for seascapes, to allow me to get as much understanding of those as this book enabled me to about landscapes. If there were an award for best instructional art book of the year, this would definitely get my vote. Thank you Terry Harrison.
